of
good character, who are desirous of re-establishing,
restoring and maintaining the principle of order,
uprightness and human decency. In our modern world,
where such principles are most rare, the Order has
taken to itself a challenge that commands envy.
Knights
of Africa shares the illustrious history of the Ancient
Order of the Hospitallers of Saint John, which dates back
to the days of the Crusades. Although Knights of Africa
has been in existence only more recently, it addresses
itself to helping solve globally, man’s essential
problems, with special attention to the continent of Africa.
Such problems include illiteracy, tribal feuds, civil wars,
refugees, nepotism, incompetence, parasitic thievery and
foul word. Let there be no mistake, we are aware, these
problems are not confined to Africa alone. Whereas, some
are home grown, a lot more of these problems are transplanted
from elsewhere and nurtured in Africa. Thus, our reason
for selecting a global outlook.
Since
the Order’s founding in June 1993, by Prof.
Sir Abukuse V.E.P.Mbirika, who is also styled as
His Serene Highness, Prince Abukuse V.E.P.Mbirika,
the Sovereign Grand Master, it has rapidly been recognized
by many countries and other organizations as well
as prominent individuals worldwide, starting with
the president of the United States, William Jefferson
Clinton, when he was still in the White House. |
